Foodborne illness is a serious threat to public health globally. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over 48 million cases are reported in the United States annually. Among these cases, 125, 000 individuals are hospitalized and 3,000 deaths occur.
Florida statutes require that all food service managers responsible for the storage, preparation, display and serving of food to the public successfully pass a written Food Safety Manager Certification Examination.
AEDI provides training and administers the nationwide-approved Food Safety Manager Certification and Food Handler Certificate exams through the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals.
AEDI also trains farmers in implementing Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and creating personalized food safety plans in the Food Safety on the Farm Course.
